Università di Napoli Federico IIAldo Zollo serves as Full Professor of Seismology and Digital Signal Processing at the University of Naples Federico II, where he heads the Seismological Laboratory (RISSC-Lab). After completing his Physics degree at Naples Federico II in 1983 and PhD in Solid Earth Geophysics from the University of Paris VII in 1990, he has dedicated his career to understanding seismic wave propagation and earthquake processes. As director of the Near Fault Observatory ISNet, he leads crucial earthquake monitoring efforts in Southern Italy. His research spans theoretical and experimental aspects of seismic wave propagation, volcano exploration, and early warning systems for earthquake prevention. His contributions earned him the honor of "Commendatore della Repubblica Italiana" in 2007. His scientific impact is reflected in over 215 publications with an h-index of 42. Currently, he serves as President of RISS srl, a University spin-off company, while maintaining membership on the Scientific Council of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology. His laboratory has developed significant expertise in Earthquake Early Warning systems, contributing to multiple European research projects including SAFER, REAKT, and EPOS.
