Distinguished Arabic Language Education and Cultural Studies Scholar
Dr. Alaa Ibrahim is an Associate Professor of Arabic at Qatar University's Arabic for non-Native Speakers Center (ANNS) and a visiting professor at Georgetown University in Qatar. With seventeen years of expertise in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, he has established himself as a leading authority in Arabic language pedagogy and cultural studies. His academic contributions include fourteen books and numerous peer-reviewed articles, while his innovative work includes partnering with Al Jazeera Network to create "Conversational Situations," an interactive visual learning series. Before joining Qatar University, he served as an assistant professor at Ain Shams University in Egypt and has worked as a consultant for various higher education institutions, focusing on active learning strategies and online learning applications. His research excellence has been recognized through multiple international, regional, and local awards for critical research and creative writing, while he serves as an external reviewer and editorial board member for several scientific journals and Arabic periodicals
