Agustí Verde Parera

Agustí Verde Parera is the Data Protection Officer (DPO) at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), a role he has held since January 2018. He graduated in Law from the University of Barcelona in 1987 and has since developed a robust career in legal affairs, particularly in labor law, public service, administrative procedures, and data protection. From 1993 to 2008, he served as a legal advisor at UAB's Legal Office, where he honed his expertise in various legal domains. As DPO, Verde is responsible for ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and plays a crucial role in advising university staff on data handling practices. His responsibilities also include supervising data processing activities, conducting impact assessments, and serving as a liaison with the Catalan Data Protection Authority. Verde's extensive experience and commitment to safeguarding personal data reflect his dedication to upholding privacy rights within the academic community.
