Dr. Agbessi Amouzou is an Associate Professor in the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a senior faculty member at the Institute for International Programs (IIP). With a robust background in population studies and health, Dr. Amouzou specializes in measuring and monitoring coverage of reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH) interventions. His extensive experience includes leading evaluations of large-scale RMNCH programs in low-income countries and overseeing significant projects such as RADAR, Comprehensive Mortality Surveillance for Action (COMSA), and Countdown to 2030. Prior to his role at Johns Hopkins, he worked with UNICEF's Data and Analytics Section, where he was instrumental in analyzing MNCH data for global monitoring.Dr. Amouzou holds a PhD in Population Studies and Health from Johns Hopkins, as well as advanced degrees in biostatistics, demography, and mathematics. He teaches courses like "Analysis and Interpretation of Large-Scale Programs" and "Evaluating Public Health Programs at Scale" on Coursera, equipping students with essential skills to assess health interventions effectively. His work not only contributes to academic knowledge but also drives practical improvements in health outcomes for vulnerable populations.
