Harvard UniversityAbdisalan Noor has transformed malaria surveillance and control through innovative applications of geospatial analysis and epidemiology. After beginning his career mapping resources in northern Kenya, he built an extraordinary career combining spatial analysis with public health implementation. As Head of Strategic Information for Response at WHO's Global Malaria Programme in Geneva, he leads global efforts to strengthen malaria surveillance systems and develop evidence-based intervention strategies. His pioneering work includes creating Kenya's first mapped Master Health Facility List and developing empirical maps of malaria risk. Before joining WHO in 2016, he spent 16 years at the Kenya Medical Research Institute/Wellcome Trust Research Programme as Director of its Nairobi Programme. His achievements earned him the African Union National Scientific Award and fellowships in prestigious organizations including the African Academy of Sciences and Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. Currently serving as Visiting Professor at Harvard T.H.
