Boston UniversityAaron Osowiecki is a distinguished physics educator who joined Boston Latin School in 1999 after serving four years as a U.S. Naval officer. He earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Connecticut and an M.Ed. in science education from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, achieving National Board Certification in 2011. As the lead author of Energizing Physics, a progressive physics curriculum, he has influenced physics education beyond his classroom, implementing the program in schools across Boston, MA, and Portland, OR, with National Science Foundation support. His teaching portfolio includes Physics 1 and AP Physics Electricity and Magnetism for grades 10-12, and his commitment to student-centered learning has catalyzed a philosophical transformation within the Boston Latin School science department. His excellence in education has been recognized with prestigious honors, including the 2016 Shell Science Teaching Award and the Presidential Excellence Award in Science.
