Who is the programme for?

Admission to the SASTRA Online MBA is open to graduates from any recognised university across any discipline. Diploma holders under the 10+3 pathway may be considered on a case-by-case basis subject to a minimum of seven years of supervisory work experience. International participants require an equivalent graduation degree from a recognised institution. The admission process is managed in partnership with Veranda HigherEd and involves a preliminary eligibility check by a Programme Advisor covering educational qualifications, work experience, current employment, and English proficiency. Eligible candidates complete online registration and pay the first instalment or full programme fee, along with submission of required documents including a passport photograph, ID proof, degree certificate, marksheets, and a work experience declaration. Academically, the programme spans four semesters across two years. Semester 1 introduces Foundations of Management, Economics for Decision Making, Accounting for Managers, and Business Research Methods. Semester 2 covers Contemporary Marketing, People Management, Financial Management, and Operations and Supply Chain Management, along with Masterclass I. Semester 3 introduces Strategic Management, Business Analytics and Data Visualisation, Corporate Laws and Governance, and three electives. Semester 4 includes three additional electives, Masterclass II, and the Project Work. A total of 80 credits are required for degree award.

The SASTRA Online MBA curriculum is structured across four semesters and comprises 19 courses plus one Project Work, totalling 80 credits. The curriculum blends core management theory with practical electives, interactive masterclasses, and a capstone project. Core subjects cover the full spectrum of business management including economics, accounting, marketing, finance, HR, operations, strategy, analytics, and corporate governance. Two Masterclass courses, delivered by senior industry practitioners, are embedded in Semesters 2 and 4. Elective specialisations are available in Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, and General Management, each offering three elective courses across Semesters 3 and 4. Semester 3 electives include domain-specific subjects such as Phygital Retailing, Investment Analysis, Compensation Management, and Digital and Social Media Marketing. Semester 4 electives include Consumer Behaviour, Behavioural Finance, Organisational Design and Development, and Personal Finance and Wealth Management. The Project Work in Semester 4 carries 8 credits and requires learners to identify and solve a real-world business problem.

Semester 1 builds the analytical and managerial foundation with four core courses: Foundations of Management and Organisational Behaviour, Economics for Decision Making, Accounting for Managers, and Business Research Methods, totalling 16 credits. Semester 2 expands into functional management areas with five subjects: Contemporary Marketing Management, People Management, Financial Management, Operations and Supply Chain Management, and Masterclass I, amounting to 20 credits. Masterclass I is a live interactive session series led by seasoned industry professionals, offering practical insights into real-world business environments. Semester 3 introduces Strategic Management, Business Analytics and Data Visualisation, Corporate Laws and Governance, and three elective courses from the learner's chosen specialisation track, totalling 18 credits. Semester 4 completes the programme with three further electives, Masterclass II, and the Project Work, amounting to 26 credits. The Project Work requires learners to identify a real-world problem statement and develop a collaborative solution, applying the integrated management knowledge acquired across all four semesters.

He is a recipient of the prestigious 'Best Professor in Marketing' award, conferred by ET Now (Economic Times Now) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to marketing education. As a marketing scholar, Dr. Renganathan's research and teaching interests converge on strategic marketing areas, including Services Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, Branding, and Marketing Communication, with a focus on driving business growth and customer engagement.

The SASTRA Online MBA fee for Indian participants is Rs. 70,000 per semester or Rs. 1,10,000 per year, with a total programme fee of Rs. 1,80,000 for the full two-year duration at the limited-time discounted rate. International participants are charged USD 1,100 per semester or USD 1,900 per year, with a total of USD 3,400. Multiple payment options are available: a down payment of Rs. 20,000 with loan or financial assistance for the balance, semester-wise payment, annual payment, or full upfront payment. The programme fee covers application charges, tuition for all live and synchronous sessions, learning materials, case studies, class exercises, and assessment charges. The SASTRA Online MBA employs a blended digital pedagogy that combines asynchronous and synchronous learning elements. E-tutorials in the form of pre-recorded expert videos are uploaded weekly over 12 weeks per semester and remain accessible until the semester ends, allowing learners to study at their own pace. E-content comprising e-books, lecture notes, PPTs, and open-source materials is available from day one of each semester and accessible across devices at any time. Live webinars constitute the synchronous teaching core of the programme, with learners expected to complete three weeks of prior content before each live session. Assessments are conducted in both MCQ and descriptive formats at the end of each module. The programme's defining pedagogical feature is its Masterclass Series, where senior industry professionals lead live, interactive sessions covering real-time challenges, case studies, simulation games, and group exercises. These sessions create meaningful networking opportunities and deliver experiential learning that goes beyond traditional classroom instruction. Learners also undertake a group project identifying and solving a real-world business problem, bridging academic learning with professional application.
