The M.Tech. Digital Manufacturing is a Work Integrated Learning Programme (WILP) spanning four semesters. BITS Pilani's Work Integrated Learning Programmes are approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Working professionals can attend live lectures from anywhere over an online technology-enabled platform, mostly on weekends or after business hours. The programme has been designed for engineering professionals employed in industries such as Automotive, Heavy Engineering, Equipment Manufacturing, Precision Engineering, etc. and working in functional areas such as Manufacturing, Production, R&D, Maintenance, Projects, Consultancy, etc. The programme has a special emphasis on concepts such as Additive Manufacturing, Digital Manufacturing, Disruptive Innovation, Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity in Manufacturing. Students have access to virtual simulation and remote labs using DFMA, MATLAB, VCNC, and IoT remote lab. These include Proteus Virtual Lab, DFMA Virtual Lab, Automation Studio Virtual Lab, Design for Additive Manufacturing Lab, Additive Manufacturing Process Lab, Flexible Manufacturing Systems Lab, Embedded System Design Lab, Cyber Security in Manufacturing Lab, Mechanisms and Robotics Lab, and Remote IoT Lab. An annual conclave provides networking opportunities with industry professionals and academicians. The dissertation project in the final semester enables students to apply concepts and techniques learned during the programme.
