The MBA in Manufacturing Management curriculum is structured across four semesters, providing a comprehensive education in all aspects of manufacturing and operations management. The first semester builds a strong foundation with courses in Financial and Management Accounting, Managerial Economics, Quantitative Methods, and Managing People & Organizations. The second semester advances knowledge with Marketing, Financial Management, Product Design and Development, and Operations Management. The third semester focuses on specialized manufacturing skills through Total Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, Lean Manufacturing, and Strategic Management and Business Policy. The final semester includes two elective courses and a project that allows practical application of the knowledge gained. Elective options include Leadership & Managing Change, Project Management, Sustainable Manufacturing, Modern Manufacturing, Manufacturing Strategy, and Supply Chain Analytics.

This is achieved through continuous assessment including graded assignments/quizzes, mid-semester exam, and comprehensive exam. Prof. Venkataraman is an Associate Professor with Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) at BITS Pilani, bringing 25 years of industry experience in manufacturing, supply chain, and strategy within the light engineering and automotive sectors. He has led greenfield projects, company-wide quality initiatives, and new product developments. A proud alumnus of BITS Pilani, he earned his BS and MS in Engineering through WILP and is currently a Ph.D. scholar at BITS Pilani-Hyderabad, focusing on Engineering Education Research. As Associate Dean, he heads the Engineering group and leads WILP’s digital learning initiatives. His teaching expertise spans manufacturing, decision analysis, and precision engineering.
Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering,Expert in Manufacturing Excellence & Project Management
Dr. Arun Maity is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at BITS Pilani, Rajasthan, with nearly 30 years of experience in academia. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Government Engineering College, Raipur (now NIT Raipur), an M.E. in Production Engineering from M.S. University of Baroda, and a Ph.D. from BITS Pilani, focusing on Manufacturing Excellence at GRASIM Industries. His expertise spans manufacturing excellence, project management, and human resource management, supplemented by a Postgraduate Diploma in HRM from IGNOU and certifications in project management. He has played a key role in implementing Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) and Practice School initiatives at various industries. Dr. Maity has mentored numerous industrial projects in manufacturing and service sectors and has published research in national journals while actively participating in seminars and conferences.
