Anees is the Director of The Breast Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital, an Associate Professor in Surgery at Yale School of Medicine, Program Director of the Interdisciplinary Breast Fellowship, and Assistant Director for Global Oncology at Yale Comprehensive Cancer Center. A Canadian, she completed her BSc and MD at the University of Alberta, general surgery residency and MSc at the University of Saskatchewan, and fellowships and degrees at UT M. D. Anderson, Harvard, and the University of Louisville. She built Kentucky's first accredited Breast Center and led Yale to its first NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Northeast. Her recent work is published in the New England Journal of Medicine. She also teaches, mentors, and is the Breast Surgery Section Editor for UpToDate. She completed an MBA in Leadership in Healthcare at Yale's School of Management.
