Pioneering Research in FinTech and Blockchain
Andrew Wu is a prominent researcher in fintech, specializing in blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and robo-advisors. He leverages machine learning and automated text analysis to examine large-scale, unstructured data, with his findings published in the Journal of Financial Economics and featured in op-eds for The Hill. Dr. Wu teaches courses on FinTech Innovations and Global Business Field Projects in FinTech, and he has conducted an Executive Education program on Smart Banking in the Age of FinTech for the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. He earned his PhD in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a BA in mathematics and economics from Yale University.
Professor of Finance
Robert Dittmar is a Professor of Finance at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. His research interests encompass the use of initial coin offerings (ICOs) for capital raising, as well as empirical and theoretical issues in asset pricing. Dittmar's scholarly work has been published in prestigious journals, including The Journal of Finance and Journal of Financial Economics.In addition to his research, Professor Dittmar teaches several courses at both the BBA and MBA levels, including "FinTech Innovations," "Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Explained," and "Raising Capital: Credit Tech, Coin Offerings, and Crowdfunding." He also advises the student-run Maize and Blue Fund and teaches courses in the doctoral program at Michigan Ross.Before joining the faculty at Michigan in 2003, Dittmar was an assistant professor at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He has practical experience in finance from his time at First Chicago Corp. (now part of JPMorgan Chase) and First Union National Bank Corp. (now part of Wells Fargo). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina and a B.S. from the University of Illinois, bringing a strong academic background combined with industry experience to his role as an educator and researcher
