Michelle Obrecht teaches Alexander Technique in the School of Music, Theatre & Dance at the University of Michigan, offering students tools to reduce tension and enhance emotional well-being. With a BA from UCLA and a Master’s in History from UC Berkeley, Michelle's personal recovery journey after a car accident led her to complete 1600 hours of Alexander Technique training in 1991. Alongside her expertise in Alexander Technique, she integrates alternative wellness practices such as meditation, craniosacral therapy, and acupressure. Michelle has conducted workshops at Eastern Michigan University and Interlochen Arts Academy and was awarded a LEO Professional Development Grant in 2018 to attend the International Alexander Technique Congress. With over 25 years of teaching experience, Michelle remains dedicated to exploring the intersection of mind, body, and performance.
