Dr. Ebbin Dotson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Management and Policy at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, where he also serves as the Faculty Director for the UM Summer Enrichment Program and leads the Health Equity Leadership Pipeline Collaborative. His research encompasses a range of topics, including organizational theory, health equity, leadership competencies, workforce diversity, and health literacy. Dr. Dotson is dedicated to addressing healthcare disparities and enhancing community health through innovative leadership and policy initiatives. He teaches courses focused on organizational behavior and health equity management, aiming to equip future leaders with the skills necessary to foster inclusive healthcare environments.In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Dotson actively supports recruitment and retention programs for underrepresented students in public health and advises the Public Health Student of African Descent organization. His previous experience includes serving as Assistant Dean for Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health. Dr. Dotson holds a PhD in Health Services and Policy Analysis from UC Berkeley and has a strong commitment to mentoring youth, particularly young men, in his community.
