Leading Expert in Responsible Innovation and Governance at the University of Manchester
Dr. Sally Randles is a Senior Research Fellow at the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research, where she leads the theme on Emerging Technologies, Governance, and Responsible Innovation. Her research focuses on how responsibility is embedded in research, innovation, and governance processes. She is the Principal Investigator on the European Commission FP7 RES-AGORA project, designing governance frameworks for responsible research in Europe, and co-investigates the UK’s £10 million SYNBIOCHEM centre, integrating responsible innovation into biotechnology research. She holds degrees from Lancaster and the University of Manchester, with past roles in economic development and consumer research.
Pioneer in Responsible Management and Sustainability Education
Oliver Laasch, founder of the Center for Responsible Management Education, has dedicated his career to advancing business sustainability, responsibility, and ethics in academia. After earning his degree in business, economics, and business education from Goethe University in Frankfurt, he lectured and researched at Seoul National University and led the Center for Sustainability and Responsibility at Monterrey Tec. As a manager for a European Social Fund project, he created a training program for Responsible Businesses and coordinated e-learning initiatives at the Institute of Corporate Responsibility Management at Steinbeis University Berlin. Currently, he serves as a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research, focusing on business model innovation for sustainability and ethics. An accomplished author and editor of the United Nations PRME book collection, Oliver has coached numerous companies and universities while designing and teaching a wide range of courses across bachelor, master, PhD, and executive education levels, including topics such as “Innovation for Sustainability,” “Leadership for Sustainable Development,” and “Social Entrepreneurship.”
