Innovator in Agricultural Education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
Debra Korte is a Teaching Associate Professor and the Assistant Dean for Learning Innovation in the College of ACES at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She focuses on connecting individuals to opportunities and leveraging campus resources to innovate and diversify educational offerings. Korte has experience in both classroom and corporate settings, having served as an Agricultural Education Instructor and later as Assistant Communications Director for Software Solutions Integrated, where she designed digital training and developed curriculum. An award-winning instructor, she teaches courses such as Curriculum Design & Instruction, Training & Development, and Teaching Strategies in Agricultural Education. Korte holds a PhD in Agricultural Education from the University of Missouri, an MS in Educational Leadership Administration from Eastern Illinois University, and a BS in Agricultural and Environmental Communications & E
Career Services Leader at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
Jean Drasgow is the Director of Career Services for the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In her role, she develops and delivers career management services for approximately 3,200 undergraduate and graduate students, coordinates the ACES + LAS Career Fair, and teaches a professional development course focused on career strategies. Prior to her current position, Drasgow managed the University of Illinois Center for Human Resource Management, where she organized conferences and administered research grants while fostering relationships with corporate partners. She has also worked as a human resource consultant. Drasgow holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources from the University of Illinois and is pursuing a PhD in Agricultural Education and Leadership at the University of Missouri. She was recognized with the Chancellor’s Academic Professional Excellence (CAPE) Award in 2021 for her contributions to the campus mission
