Jon Stewart is a former Associate Professor at the Søren Kierkegaard Research Centre at the University of Copenhagen, where he has made significant contributions to the study of Kierkegaard and European philosophy. He is the author of several influential monographs, including Kierkegaard’s Relations to Hegel Reconsidered and Idealism and Existentialism. In addition to his original research, Stewart has published numerous translations and edited over thirty anthologies focusing on Kierkegaard's work and its philosophical context. He serves as the editor-in-chief of several scholarly series, including Kierkegaard Research: Sources, Reception and Resources and Danish Golden Age Studies. As the president and founder of the International Kierkegaard Society and a member of the Royal Danish Academy of Science, he plays a pivotal role in promoting Kierkegaard studies globally. Stewart teaches the course "Søren Kierkegaard - Subjectivity, Irony and the Crisis of Modernity," which delves into Kierkegaard's exploration of modern existential themes.
