Dr. Xiaobo Zhou is a Professor of Computer Science and the Interim Dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS). He previously served as the Chair of the Department of Computer Science from 2011 to 2016 and currently directs the Distributed, Sustainable, and Cloud Computing Systems (DISCO) Lab. Dr. Zhou's research encompasses a broad range of topics in computer network systems, with particular emphasis on datacenter cloud computing, Big Data parallel and distributed processing, autonomic computing, and scalable Internet services. His work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, and he received the NSF CAREER Award in 2009 as well as the University Faculty Award for Excellence in Research in 2011.Dr. Zhou teaches several courses related to network communication and protocols, including "Fundamentals of Network Communication" and "TCP/IP and Advanced Topics." His expertise in both academia and industry positions him as a key figure in advancing research and education in computer science.
