Professor

Juliet Gopinath is a faculty member at the University of Colorado Boulder, leading the Optics and Photonics Research Group. Her research focuses on various aspects of laser technology, including ultrafast and high-power continuous wave (cw) and pulsed lasers. Gopinath's work encompasses beam combining, mid-infrared sources and materials, and the spectroscopy of semiconductors and other novel materials. Current projects in her lab involve adaptive optics, mid-infrared lasers, and the generation and detection of orbital angular momentum of light. The applications of her research extend to sensors, communications, LIDAR systems, medical imaging, water purification, and environmental monitoring. She actively engages in interdisciplinary research that integrates optics and photonics with solid-state devices and nanotechnology, offering research opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students.
