John holds an MS in Telecommunications from the University of Colorado, an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurship from UCLA's Anderson School, and a BA in Architecture from UC Berkeley.In his role at CU Boulder, Professor Svoboda teaches courses such as "Building and Pitching Marketing Campaigns in Tech Industries," "Digital Media and Strategic Planning in Technology Markets," and "Market Research and Analysis for Tech Industries." His courses are designed to equip students with the skills necessary to navigate the tech landscape effectively, focusing on practical applications of marketing strategies and market analysis. In addition to his academic work, John is currently a principal at a private technology development and commercialization firm, where he continues to apply his expertise in business development and strategic partnerships.
