Daniel Walkes is a Scholar of Engineering Practice and Lecturer in the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he has been teaching since spring 2019. He specializes in Internet of Things (IoT) embedded firmware, particularly through his course, ECEN 5823. With a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota State University and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from CU Boulder, Walkes brings a wealth of practical experience to his teaching, having worked in the industry for several years before transitioning to academia.Before joining CU Boulder, Walkes held positions at ProStor Systems, where he developed firmware for embedded computer storage devices, and has since worked as an embedded software developer and freelance consultant on various IoT projects.
