David Torgerson is an Instructor and guest lecturer at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he plays a pivotal role in co-teaching the Master of Business Analytics program Boot Camp. With a strong passion for data and analytics, he believes in their power to create "clarity out of chaos" and transform analytic capabilities into strategic advantages for organizations. His diverse background includes starting his career as a Nuclear Engineer with the U.S. Navy and the Department of Energy, which laid a solid foundation for his later ventures into management consulting.Over the years, Dave has specialized in strategy, analytics, and organizational design, leading to significant roles at various companies, including U.S. Cellular, Gogo, and Sentara Healthcare. He holds multiple degrees, including a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Duke University, as well as advanced degrees in Engineering Administration and Nuclear Engineering. Outside of academia, Dave enjoys triathlons, surfing, playing music, and applying analytics to his hobbies. Through his courses—such as "Advanced Business Analytics Capstone" and "Introduction to Data Analytics for Business"—he equips students with essential skills to leverage data effectively in business contexts.
