William Kuskin is a Professor of English at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he specializes in the history of literary books, spanning from medieval manuscripts to contemporary comic books. He earned his BA from Vassar College in 1987 and his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1998. His scholarly work includes two significant books on England’s first printer, William Caxton: Symbolic Caxton: Literary Culture and Print Capitalism (2008) and Caxton’s Trace: Studies in the History of English Printing (2006). Additionally, he has contributed to discussions on fifteenth- and sixteenth-century English literature, world literature, and graphic novels.In addition to his research, Professor Kuskin has made notable contributions to digital education, having launched one of the first MOOCs on humanities topics, titled "Comic Books and Graphic Novels," which attracted over seventy thousand students. He has also developed courses on effective communication and public speaking. His latest work, Recursive Origins: Writing at the Transition to Modernity, further explores the evolution of writing and literature. Through his innovative teaching methods and extensive research, William Kuskin continues to influence both students and scholars in the fields of literature and digital education.
