Eric Howard is a Geospatial Data Scientist and GIS developer with the UC Davis Division of Continuing and Professional Education. He currently works at the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, where he develops GIS-based applications to enhance situational awareness for first responders during emergencies and conducts geospatial analysis to support emergency management and disaster recovery. Previously, Eric served as a geospatial data scientist and transportation planner for Fehr & Peers, as well as a transportation planner with the Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization. His experience also includes working as a Marine GIS Analyst for The Nature Conservancy, focusing on coastal and marine spatial planning, and participating in research projects at the University of Washington and UCLA.

Nicholas Santos is a Geospatial Applications Researcher at the University of California, Davis, where he specializes in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and environmental analysis. With a diverse background as a GIS specialist, programmer, web developer, and environmentalist, he develops GIS-based software and databases to assess environmental impacts and indicators at the Center for Watershed Sciences.Nicholas founded Environmental Consumer, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing actionable information for consumers aiming to reduce their environmental footprint.
