MathTrackX: Polynomials and Functions

This module introduces different categories of numbers, including integers, rational numbers, and real numbers. Students learn to simplify expressions involving various number types and apply basic arithmetic rules to solve both theoretical and practical problems. The module also covers the use of the four basic inequalities for manipulating and solving simple mathematical problems, establishing a foundation for more advanced mathematical concepts.

This module focuses on understanding and working with linear functions in a coordinate plane. Students learn to identify and plot points, conceptualize functions as input-output relationships, determine slope and y-intercept of linear relationships, plot graphs of linear functions, and derive linear equations from graphical representations. The module emphasizes both theoretical understanding and practical application through solving linear equations in various contexts.

This module covers the identification and analysis of polynomials and their properties. Students learn to solve problems involving quadratic equations, graph polynomials, and identify key features from these graphs such as roots, turning points, and inflection points. The module also addresses more complex polynomial manipulation for polynomials with degree greater than two, including special cases that can be reduced to solving quadratics.

This module explores the concept of functions in greater depth, teaching students to distinguish valid functions from other relations. Students learn to identify domain and range from both function definitions and graphs, recognize fundamental properties of functions from their graphical representations, understand the concept of continuity, and construct new functions through operations like addition, multiplication, and composition of existing functions.

This module consists of a timed examination that evaluates students' understanding and application of the mathematical concepts covered throughout the course. The assessment comprehensively tests knowledge of numbers, linear functions, polynomials, and general function concepts, allowing students to demonstrate their mastery of these foundational mathematical skills and identify areas for further study.
