His industry experience spans various sectors, including implementing digital solutions for sales and operations in the food industry and improving business performance for small companies.As a co-director of the NSF Center for eDesign, Dr. English collaborates with multiple universities and over 35 corporate and governmental partners to align academic resources with industry needs, effectively bridging the gap between research and practical implementation. He co-developed the pioneering course "Information Technology in Engineering Design" in 2002, aimed at preparing engineering students for the transformative impact of information technology in their future workplaces. Dr. English believes in fostering a continuous learning environment, viewing himself as a coach who encourages students to cultivate curiosity and enthusiasm for their subjects, thus equipping them with skills for lifelong learning beyond the classroom.
