Cecily Rose is an Assistant Professor of International Law at the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies, Leiden Law School, and serves as a senior editor of the Leiden Journal of International Law. She has a diverse background in international law, having previously worked as an associate legal officer at the International Court of Justice in The Hague and at the Special Court for Sierra Leone in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Additionally, she was an associate in the International Regulation and Compliance group at Steptoe & Johnson, LLP, in Washington, DC.

Professor Larissa van den Herik is a distinguished academic at Leiden University, where she holds the position of Professor of Public International Law and serves as the program director of both the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies and the advanced LL.M. program on Public International Law, specializing in Peace, Justice, and Development as well as International Criminal Law. With a robust background in legal scholarship, she has previously acted as Editor-in-Chief of the Leiden Journal of International Law and currently serves as its general editor. Her extensive research focuses on critical areas such as international peace and security law, particularly regarding UN sanctions, terrorism, and the laws governing genocide and crimes against humanity. Additionally, she plays a pivotal role in advising the Dutch government on pressing public international law issues, including drones and cyber warfare.
