Expert in Transplant Nephrology and Metabolic Research
Dr. Aiko P.J. de Vries is a transplant nephrologist at the Leiden University Medical Center. He completed his PhD focusing on the metabolic consequences of renal transplantation while also undergoing a residency in internal medicine at the University Medical Center Groningen. His research interests include the renal (transplant) implications of metabolic syndrome, posttransplant diabetes, and cardiovascular imaging.
Renowned Transplant Surgeon and Academic Leader
Andrzej Grzegorz Baranski completed his medical studies in 1985 at the Medical University of Warsaw, Poland. In 1990, as a surgical resident, he defended his doctoral thesis in the field of experimental liver transplantation under the supervision of Professor Polanski. He has since been associated with the Medical University of Warsaw as a physician and university lecturer, gaining extensive experience in transplant surgery through training in Belgium, the Netherlands, and the USA.
