Lorenzo Pandolfi currently serves as an Associate Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics and Statistics of the University of Naples Federico II and holds a position as Research Fellow at the Center for Studies in Economics and Finance (CSEF). His academic journey includes a PhD in Economics, Finance, and Management (cum laude) from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (2018), preceded by a Master of Research in Economics, Finance and Management from the same institution (2013), and a Master in Economics and Finance (cum laude) from the University of Naples Federico II (2012). His career progression includes roles as Senior Assistant Professor (2020-2023) and Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2017-2020) at the University of Naples Federico II. Pandolfi's research primarily focuses on international economics and applied microeconometrics, with significant publications in prestigious journals including the Journal of Financial Economics, Management Science, Journal of International Economics, and the Journal of European Economic Association. His work spans various topics including sovereign debt markets, financial literacy, promotion incentives in academia, and capital flows. He has authored several influential papers, notably on sovereign debt inflows, financial market dynamics, and public employee incentives. Currently, he is advancing research on multiple fronts, including studies on index rebalancings, betting behavior, women's empowerment in academia, and the impact of tenure-track systems on academic productivity. He has also co-authored the book "Economia dei Mercati Finanziari" with Marco Pagano and Giovanni W. Puopolo.
