Alessandra Pagliano serves as Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture (DiARC) at the University of Naples Federico II, where she has taught Applications of Descriptive Geometry since 2002. Her research focuses on reviving the essential connections between geometry and specialized disciplines like gnomonics, perspective illusions, theatrical scenography, and landscape design. Since 2015-16, she has taught Drawing Techniques in the Visual Communication course for the Design for the Built Environment program. Her innovative work includes creating anamorphic installations that explore observer interaction and perspective illusion, particularly in urban spaces and architectural contexts. Her expertise spans architectural drawing, automatic drawing, and architectural surveying, with significant contributions to understanding how geometric principles interact with visual arts and urban design. Her research examines how perspective and geometry can transform urban spaces, particularly through participated anamorphic art as a tool against suburban degradation in contemporary cities
