Carlo Fusaro served as Full Professor of Comparative Public Law at the Universities of Pisa and Florence, where his career spanned from 1975 to 2016. His expertise encompasses constitutional law, electoral systems, and institutional reforms. After serving as a Member of Parliament and advisor to the Ciampi government, he held significant positions including membership on the Guarantor Board of San Marino's constitutional norms (2012-2016) and presidency of the Italian Society of Electoral Studies. His academic contributions include co-authoring influential textbooks with A. Barbera on public and constitutional law, directing the "Quaderni costituzionali" journal, and publishing extensively on institutional reforms, electoral legislation, and constitutional change. His international impact is evidenced through visiting professorships at Bremen, Hiroshima, and UCL London, with lectures delivered at 45 universities worldwide. His works, translated into multiple languages including English, French, Russian, Czech, Japanese, and Spanish, have significantly shaped understanding of democratic transitions and constitutional systems.
