In this capstone project for the Internet of Things specialization, students will design and build their own system using at least two sensors, one communication protocol, and one actuator. The course provides a template for a surveillance system featuring an off-grid solar-powered workstation as a hub for multiple surveillance sensors, but encourages creativity in project design. Participants will gain hands-on experience in system design, development, and testing using the DragonBoard™ 410c platform. The course emphasizes industry-standard documentation practices, including system design documents and unit test reports. Students will also develop their technical communication skills through video presentations of their projects. This practical, project-based approach allows learners to apply and integrate the knowledge gained throughout the IoT specialization.
