Gerry Meehan is a former National Hockey League (NHL) player and executive, known for his extensive contributions to the sport over a 14-year playing career with six NHL teams. After retiring from professional hockey, he earned his Juris Doctor (JD) from the University at Buffalo Law School, transitioning into a successful career in corporate and sports law. Meehan returned to the Buffalo Sabres, where he served as Associate Counsel, General Manager, and Executive Vice-President before starting his own consulting practice. His recent work includes managing start-ups focused on sports statistics, NHL franchise valuations, and electronic medical record management for professional sports leagues.At The State University of New York, Meehan teaches courses such as "Analytics, Law, and Athlete Representation" and "Data Analytics in Sports Law and Team Management."
