Teaching & Learning Strategist
Roberta (Robin) Sullivan is a Teaching & Learning Strategist at the University Libraries of the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. Her research focuses on innovative digital pedagogy and experimental teaching methodologies. She plays a key role in fostering a university-wide culture of exploration around emerging technologies. Sullivan is recognized for her leadership in the development and implementation of the Tools of Engagement Project (TOEP), a SUNY-wide initiative that promotes the use of online instructional technologies through on-demand Discovery Learning Professional Development for faculty and staff. She also leads the Exploring Emerging Technologies MOOC, aimed at a broader audience of learners, faculty, and professionals to enhance their understanding of emerging technologies for career and personal growth. Both initiatives were funded by Innovative Instruction Technology Grants from the SUNY Provost’s office. Sullivan has been honored with several awards, including the SUNY Faculty Advisory Council on Teaching and Technology (FACT2) Excellence in Instruction award, an Open SUNY Excellence in Instructional Support Award, and the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.
Instructional Designer
Ms. van Putten is an Instructional Designer at the Center for Learning and Teaching at Binghamton University. Her professional interests include faculty development, creating learning communities, supporting non-traditional learners, and enhancing distance education delivery. She has served as co-principal investigator on both the Tools of Engagement Project (TOEP): On-demand Discovery Learning Professional Development and #EmTechMOOC (Emerging Technologies for Lifelong Learning and Success). Cherie has received two SUNY Faculty Advisory Council on Teaching and Technology (FACT2) Excellence in Instructional Support awards and four Open SUNY Effective Practice Awards.
