Dr. Bina Ramamurthy is a Professor of Teaching in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University at Buffalo, part of the State University of New York system. With over two decades of experience in STEM research, curriculum development, and instruction, she has made significant contributions to the fields of data-intensive computing and blockchain technology. As the Program Director of the SUNY-approved certificate program in Data-Intensive Computing, Dr. Ramamurthy has played a pivotal role in shaping educational pathways for students interested in these emerging technologies. She also leads the Blockchain ThinkLab, which has received funding from the University at Buffalo’s President’s Circle, focusing on innovative applications of blockchain across various industries. A recipient of the Best Teaching Faculty of the Year award in 2017, she has been instrumental in securing multiple National Science Foundation grants and has presented widely at conferences on big data and blockchain topics. Dr. Ramamurthy holds a B.E. (Honors) in Electronics and Communication from Madras University, an M.S. in Computer Science from Wichita State University, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University at Buffalo. Her dedication to education and research continues to inspire students and professionals alike in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.
