Module Description

This comprehensive 20-hour video observation course bridges theory and practice by allowing participants to observe expert English language teachers in authentic classroom settings. The curriculum provides a structured approach to observational learning through five key components. First, students engage in comparative analysis of two different classes, examining contrasting teaching styles and methodologies to identify effective practices. Next, they observe functional language lessons that demonstrate how to teach practical, everyday communication. The course also includes observation of foreign language lessons, giving participants perspective on language acquisition from a learner's viewpoint. The fourth component focuses on skills-based lessons showing techniques for teaching reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Finally, participants learn strategies for managing difficult students by observing experienced teachers handle challenging classroom situations. Throughout the course, participants develop critical observation skills that enhance their understanding of teaching dynamics, student engagement, and effective instructional techniques.
