Dr. Larry Chu stands as a transformative figure in modern medicine, serving as Professor of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Stanford University. As the visionary founder and Executive Director of Stanford Medicine X, he has created the world's premier program for emerging healthcare technology and patient-centered innovation. His academic contributions span founding the Stanford Anesthesia Informatics and Media (AIM) Lab, developing the START online educational program, and creating the Learnly ecosystem for post-graduate anesthesiology education. Dr. Amy Price is a distinguished Senior Research Scientist at Stanford's Anesthesia Informatics and Media (AIM) Lab and Senior Research Advisor to the Stanford Medicine X program, while also serving as Patient Editor for Research and Evaluation at The BMJ. After earning her doctorate in Evidence Based Healthcare from the University of Oxford following her own experience as a trauma survivor, she emerged with a transformative mission to bridge research methodology with public engagement. Her diverse background spans international relief work, clinical neurocognitive rehabilitation, and service on multiple patient organization boards. At Stanford Medicine X, she has been instrumental in developing patient-centered initiatives, including co-creating educational programs and establishing frameworks for patient-researcher partnerships.
