The English and Academic Preparation - Pre-Collegiate course is designed for students with a high-intermediate level of English, aiming to pursue undergraduate studies at an American university. This comprehensive program focuses on developing crucial academic skills while enhancing English proficiency. Ideal for international students who have completed or are near completion of their high school diploma, the course prepares them for the rigors of a bachelor's degree program in the United States. Over approximately 4 weeks, students engage with 4 modules: Listening, Speaking, and Critical Thinking; Writer's Workshop; Reading and Note-taking; and a Capstone Project. Each module offers video lessons, interactive practice, discussions with classmates, and graded activities. The flexible, asynchronous format allows students to complete work at their convenience, typically requiring 5-7 hours per week. By the end of the course, participants will have honed their academic English language skills, mastered effective note-taking strategies, and gained proficiency in common undergraduate assignments such as presentations and essay writing.
