Daniel J. O’Keefe is the Owen L. Coon Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Northwestern University. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has held faculty positions at the University of Michigan, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Illinois. His research primarily focuses on persuasion and argumentation, particularly in the area of research synthesis, including meta-analysis. O'Keefe has received numerous accolades for his work, including the National Communication Association’s Charles Woolbert Research Award and the International Communication Association’s Best Article Award. He is also recognized for his contributions to health communication and has authored the influential book Persuasion
