Dr. Lars Hjorth Præstegaard's distinguished career encompasses his current role as technical manager for radiotherapy at Aarhus University Hospital's Department of Oncology, where he expertly oversees radiotherapy quality, equipment maintenance, EU procurement processes, and radiation safety protocols, while simultaneously contributing to academic advancement through his teaching positions at both Aarhus University and the Nordic Particle Accelerator School in Lund, building upon his foundational work at Danfysik following his Ph.D. in accelerator physics from Aarhus University in 2001, and ultimately achieving recognition as a certified medical physicist by the Danish health authority in 2007.
