Dr. Cook's professional career began at GE Appliances, where he worked in product design for washers, dryers, and refrigeration before transitioning to various roles in quality management and engineering.In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Cook is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt, having designed and taught Six Sigma courses for over thirteen years. His courses on Coursera include DFSS for the 6 σ Black Belt, Six Sigma Principles, and various courses focused on the Six Sigma methodology's phases such as Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. Dr. Cook is dedicated to empowering students with practical skills that enhance their understanding of quality management and process improvement in engineering contexts.
