Immunology and Vaccine Development Expert
Dr. Jonathan Gershoni is a distinguished professor at Tel Aviv University with over 40 years of experience in viral immunology research. After receiving his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, he completed his postdoctoral training at Yale School of Medicine. His research focuses on developing new methods for rational vaccine design against pandemic diseases including AIDS, Hepatitis C, influenza, and coronaviruses. As a visiting scientist, he has contributed to research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda and Boston University's Department of Physics. His work combines protein biochemistry, monoclonal antibody technology, and computational approaches to understand virus-host interactions and develop novel vaccines and diagnostics. A recipient of multiple "Teacher of the Year" awards at Tel Aviv University, he has also served as the Director of the Israeli AIDS Task Force. Beyond his professional achievements, he resides in Israel with his wife, three daughters, and ten grandchildren.
