G. Raghuram served as Director of IIM Bangalore from February 2017 to July 2020, bringing extensive expertise in infrastructure, transport systems, and supply chain management. After earning his BTech from IIT Madras, PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad, and PhD from Northwestern University, he established himself as a leading voice in transportation policy through a career spanning over three decades. His contributions include serving as Professor and Chairperson of the Public Systems Group at IIM Ahmedabad, Dean (Faculty) at IIMA, Vice-Chancellor of Indian Maritime University, and Indian Railways Chair Professor. Through his research on railway, port, shipping, aviation, and road sectors, resulting in over 35 refereed papers and 160 case studies, he continues to influence infrastructure policy while serving on various government advisory committees. His excellence in the field has earned him multiple recognitions, including the MC Puri Memorial Award for Operational Research (2016), Academician of the Year by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (2012), and Lifetime Achievement Award for logistics and infrastructure from EXIM News (2014). Currently Professor Emeritus at Gujarat Maritime University and visiting faculty at Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, he maintains active involvement in shaping transportation and infrastructure policy across India.
