Dr. Filippos Filippidis: Leading Public Health Research and Education at Imperial College

Dr. Filippos Filippidis is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health within the Department of Primary Care and Public Health at Imperial College, where he also serves as co-Director of the Master of Public Health program. He studied Medicine and Health Promotion and Education at the University of Athens, Greece, and earned an MPH from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, specializing in Quantitative Methods. His PhD thesis examined the impact of the recent economic crisis on the epidemiology of obesity, smoking, diet, and physical activity. Currently, his research centers on the epidemiology of tobacco use and the assessment of tobacco control policies across Europe and beyond. Passionate about education, he holds a PG Diploma in University Learning and Teaching and has taught Epidemiology at Imperial College and various higher education institutions in Greece for several years.
