Marcelo Bucheli is a Professor of Business Administration and the Academic Director of iDegrees at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he has been a faculty member since 2005. He holds an impressive academic background with a Ph.D. in History from Stanford University, as well as master's degrees in Economics and History from Universidad de los Andes and Stanford, respectively. Prior to his tenure at UIUC, Bucheli was a Newcomen Fellow in Business History at Harvard Business School and an assistant professor at Universidad de los Andes in Colombia.Professor Bucheli's research interests lie at the intersection of business history and international business, particularly focusing on the political economy of foreign direct investment and the historical operations of multinational corporations. His work has garnered recognition, including the Global Strategy Journal's Best Paper Prize in 2024, and he has published extensively in leading academic journals. In the classroom, he teaches courses such as "Global Strategy I: How The Global Economy Works" and "Global Strategy II: Doing Business in The Global Economy," where he prepares students to navigate the complexities of global markets. Through his commitment to teaching and research, Marcelo Bucheli continues to influence the field of business administration significantly.
