Larry DeBrock is a Professor Emeritus of Finance at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's Gies College of Business, where he has made significant contributions to the fields of finance and economics over a distinguished career spanning more than four decades. He earned his BS and MS degrees in Economics from Bradley University and Cornell University, respectively, before completing his Ph.D. in Economics at Cornell in 1980. Throughout his tenure, Professor DeBrock has held various leadership roles, including serving as Dean of the College of Business from 2009 to 2015 and interim dean prior to that.His research interests focus on industrial organization, regulatory issues, and health economics, with a particular emphasis on applied microeconomics. Professor DeBrock has taught courses such as "Firm Level Economics: Consumer and Producer Behavior" and "Firm Level Economics: Markets and Allocations," where he emphasizes the importance of understanding market dynamics and economic principles. His dedication to teaching has earned him numerous accolades, including being named MBA Faculty of the Year multiple times. Through his extensive experience and commitment to education, Larry DeBrock continues to influence the next generation of business leaders and economists.
