Making Architecture

Architects design buildings and spaces, considering both aesthetic and functional aspects. They work on various scales, from individual rooms to entire cities, and collaborate with clients, engineers, and contractors to bring designs to life.

While artistic skills can be helpful, they're not a requirement. Architecture involves a combination of creativity, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills. The course will help you develop the necessary design thinking and visual communication skills.

The course is divided into four modules, covering the architect's mindset, design analysis, creating spaces, and the design process. It includes video lectures, assignments, and peer-reviewed projects, allowing you to apply what you've learned.

While this course provides a solid foundation in architectural thinking and basic design skills, designing a complete building requires more extensive study and practice. However, you will gain valuable insights into the design process and create a scaled site model by the end of the course.

This course develops critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills that are valuable in many fields. It also enhances your understanding of the built environment, which can be useful in various professions and in appreciating the spaces around you.

No specific software is required for the core assignments. However, the course does cover some basic photo editing using Instagram for architectural presentations. Most assignments focus on hands-on, physical model-making and sketching.
