Innovation Management and Digital Transformation Expert

Professor Karim R. Lakhani serves as the Dorothy & Michael Hintze Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, where he leads multiple pioneering initiatives at the intersection of technology, innovation, and business strategy. His distinguished career spans academia and industry, with groundbreaking research in distributed innovation systems, crowd-based innovation, and digital transformation. A prolific scholar with over 150 publications, he co-authored the award-winning book "Competing in the Age of AI" (2020) and co-edited "Perspectives on Free and Open Source Software." His academic journey includes degrees from McMaster University (B.E. in Electrical Engineering and Management), and MIT (MS in Technology and Policy, PhD in Management). He founded several Harvard initiatives including the Laboratory for Innovation Science at Harvard (LISH) and the Digital, Data & Design Institute, while also serving as principal investigator of the NASA Tournament Laboratory. Beyond academia, he advises senior executives, serves on the Mozilla Corporation board, and co-founded the Aspire Institute, supporting first-generation college students. His work has revolutionized understanding of open innovation, crowd-sourcing, and AI-driven business transformation, earning him recognition including the TUM-Peter Pribilla Innovation Leadership Award and support from the Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship.

Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship Scholar

Professor Vish Krishnan serves as the Jacobs Family Chair in Management and Engineering Leadership at the University of California San Diego's Rady School of Management, where he is also the Faculty Director of Rady's Entrepreneurship Initiative. As one of Rady School's founding faculty members, he has developed significant expertise in innovation, entrepreneurship, and product management. His distinguished career spans both academia and industry, with a PhD from MIT and extensive consulting experience with global corporations including 3M, Dell, HP, Qualcomm, Sony, Ford, Nissan, Zeiss, and Microsoft. He has led Rady School's signature Lab to Market curriculum series and serves as Associate Director for the Institute for the Global Entrepreneur. His academic contributions include highly-cited publications on innovation and product development, along with editorial positions at prestigious management journals. Professor Krishnan has received multiple teaching accolades, including being named Most Valuable Professor four times in the last decade, and has been invited to teach at prestigious institutions including MIT and Harvard University. His work has gained significant recognition, including appearances in the Wall Street Journal and being documented in Harvard Business School case studies.
