This comprehensive introduction to Classical Greek is designed to provide students with the fundamental building blocks for understanding this ancient language. The course is structured into three main units: XAIRETE ('welcome'), which offers a cultural introduction to the Greek world; GLOSSA ('language'), which covers the Greek alphabet, verb conjugation, and reading and writing skills; and MYTHOS ('myth'), which uses legends like Prometheus and Pandora to teach nominal morphology. Throughout these units, students progressively build their language skills while simultaneously exploring the rich cultural and mythological context that makes Classical Greek studies so captivating. By combining linguistic instruction with cultural immersion, the course creates a holistic learning experience that establishes a strong foundation for further study.
