Prof. Matthias Finger has served as a Professor of Management of Network Industries at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) since 2002. He also directs the Transport Area at the Florence School of Regulation, part of the European University Institute, since 2010. With a PhD in Political Science from the University of Geneva, Finger has held academic positions at prestigious institutions, including Syracuse University and Columbia University. His research focuses on the liberalization, re-regulation, and governance of infrastructures across transport, energy, and communications sectors. Additionally, he is actively involved with regulatory authorities for Swiss railways and electricity
