Willem K. Korthals Altes (born 1964) serves as Professor of Land Development at TU Delft's Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, a position he has held since 1997. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. (Cum Laude) from the University of Amsterdam in 1995 on national spatial planning, following research at TU Vienna on urban planning. Before his academic career, he worked as a senior consultant and partner at Ecorys-Kolpron (1995-2003). His research focuses on the complex interactions between planning, property rights, and property markets, particularly examining how government policy interfaces with market interests in modern planning
